Professional History

Dr. Romano is a Pediatric Endocrinologist with Children’s and Women’s Physicians of Westchester at New York Medical College where, for the past 21 years, she has been involved in teaching, patient care and clinical research. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at New York Medical College at which she has served as Director of Pediatric Endocrine Research, and was previously the Director of Pediatrics at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, a teaching hospital of New York Medical College, for 7 years.

Dr. Romano has extensive experience caring for children with growth issues, including those with genetic conditions. She has a longstanding interest in and experience with growth in patients with Noonan Syndrome, and advocates for growth optimization in these children. She has recently published adult height outcomes in the largest group of individuals with Noonan Syndrome treated with growth hormone. Most recently, Dr. Romano worked with other Noonan Syndrome experts to develop and publish management guidelines for those with this condition. She serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the Noonan Syndrome Support Group, is a member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society, and has served as a member of the Board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
