Patrick Killeen

Patrick Killeen comes to Ridgefield Pediatrics with many years of Pediatric experience at Danbury Hospital as Chief PA. Mr. Killeen earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and family Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Colorado State University. He earned his Certificate of Completion from John Hopkins University Child Life Specialist and earned his Master of Science as a Child Health Associate and certified Physician Assistant from the University of Colorado Health Science Center.

Patrick served as President of the American Academy of Physician Assistance (AAPA) and the Society for Physician Assistants in Pediatrics (SPAP). He has held an active role within AAPA for more than 30 years and was the first liaison to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Patrick has been invited to the White House on three occasions to discuss national programs that directly impact health care to children and worked with numerous national healthcare organizations to improve pediatric health care.

Patrick has given more than 100 presentations on a variety of pediatric and professional issues. He served as hospital medical director/coordinator and instructor for Pediatric Advanced Life Support course for the American Heart Association. He has authored several articles featured in publications such as The Journal of Family Practice, The Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Advance for Physician Assistants. He also serves as a peer reviewer for JAAPA and Advance for NP/PAs.

Patrick was a national facilitator reaching out to underserved populations which focused on preventative oral health in children for the AAPA Special Interest Group of PA for Oral Health. This educational program strives to increase PAs understanding of how improved oral health will decrease systemic illnesses such as diabetes and preterm delivery.
